Aston Lark Ireland has acquired Deanspoint Insurance Brokers Limited which trades as Abbey Murphy Insurance.
The announcement follows yesterday’s news about Aston Lark agreeing terms to acquire the clients of The Health Insurance Company.
Abbey Murphy Insurance, established in 1983 and based in Longford and Mullingar, specialises in personal & commercial insurance and life assurance and is led by the management team of Mike Winters, Celine Gill and Michael Gardiner.
Mike Winters, managing director of Abbey Murphy Insurance, revealed that while there were various parties interested in acquiring the firm, none felt right until the team met Aston Lark Ireland CEO Robert Kennedy.
“Our shared values of care for our clients and our employees made Aston Lark the perfect fit for us,” Winters said.
“We now look forward to our clients and staff enjoying the benefits of being part of a much larger company, and I wish to assure them of our continued commitment to them for the foreseeable future.”
Kennedy added: “This is our second acquisition in the Midlands, to go with our Portlaoise office and we see the broadening of our geographical footprint as being key to our future success.

The value of the transaction was not disclosed.
