Aviva has promoted Andrea Montague (pictured) to chief risk officer.
Montague, who joined the insurer as group chief financial controller in April 2020, has held senior finance and audit leadership roles at Royal London and Standard Life. She succeeds Jan-Hendrik Erasmus who held the role until July.
Montague also joins Aviva’s executive committee along with group chief information officer John Cummings, subject to regulatory approval.
Commenting on the appointments, Amanda Blanc, group chief executive officer at Aviva, said they would strengthen the insurer’s executive committee as it focuses on the critical task of transforming the firm’s performance.
In August, the group reported a loss of £198m for the first half of the year compared to £874m profit in H1 2020 which included a £538m expected loss on the sale of its France business.
