HCB Group has partnered with digital GP service Doctor Care Anywhere.

Doctor Care Anywhere enables patients to book digital GP appointments around the clock and speak to doctors by video or phone to get referrals, fit notes and prescriptions.

The partnership will provide GP consultations for individuals not responding effectively to HCB’s post Covid syndrome assessment and treatment pathway, or in cases where a GP consultation is considered necessary following an initial case manager assessment.

Commenting on the partnership, Jim Harris, managing director of HCB Group, said: “The global pandemic has
accelerated the rate at which telehealth services are becoming the norm in the provision of healthcare and aligned services.

“We have been looking for some time for a virtual GP service that shares our values and aims, and we believe we have found this in Doctor Care Anywhere.”

He added: “I look forward to our teams working together to add another important layer of support to our clients, not only those going through our long Covid treatment pathway but offering a wider selection of accessibility to our employee health management clients, and claimants under our care on behalf of income protection insurers.”

Dr Bayju Thakar, CEO of Doctor Care Anywhere, added: “It is very important to us that we partner with organisations who share in that philosophy and we are very pleased to be working with the HCB team to ensure their customers have the ability to access a GP consultation wherever and whenever they need to.”
