Guardian is offering cashback worth two months’ of premiums for all critical illness (CI) applications made within the next two months.

Clients who apply for the insurer’s CI protection or combined life and CI protection between 1 October and 30 November 2021 and subsequently take out a policy will be eligible for the two cashback payments, each of which will be equivalent to one month’s critical illness premium.

The offer has been made in celebration of 200 years of the brand, with the two cashback payments being paid in December 2022 and December 2023.

The special offer applies to all types of adult CI cover; level, decreasing, increasing and family income benefit, but does not apply to life protection or children’s CI protection.

Policies enacted after 30 November will still be eligible, providing Guardian receives the application within the offer period. There is no minimum premium requirement.

Each cashback payment is subject to a maximum of £400 for each qualifying critical illness cover.

To be eligible for the first cashback payment in December 2022 the policy must be in force and premiums up to date on 15 December 2022.

To be eligible for the second cashback payment in 2023, the policy must be in force and premiums up to date on 15 December 2023.

Each cashback payment will be made direct to the bank account used to collect the monthly premiums.

Jacqui Gillies, marketing and proposition director at Guardian, said: “This is an opportunity that doesn’t come along too often, so we wanted to celebrate the brand’s bicentennial by doing something special to mark its birthday.

“So, between now and the end of November, we’re giving all clients who apply for our critical illness protection or combined life and critical illness protection, not just one, but two months’ cashback. That’s one to mark each 100 years.”
