Bupa Global and Generali Employee Benefits (GEB) have entered into a strategic partnership on international private medical insurance (IPMI) and global employee benefits solutions.

The deal builds upon GEB’s existing partnership with Bupa in the UK.

GEB customers will have access to Bupa Global’s health and wellbeing offering, while Bupa Global customers will be able to access health and benefits solutions provided by GEB’s worldwide network.

The partnership includes access to in-house healthcare experts 24/7, a second medical opinion service, multilingual advisers, enhanced mental health benefits, and the ability to include these plans within international employee benefits arrangements.

Workplace menopause pledge

In a separate announcement, Bupa’s Global, India and UK operations have signed up to Wellbeing of Women’s ‘Menopause in the Workplace’ pledge.

The insurer’s pledge commits to it recognising the menopause can be an issue in the workplace and women need support, to talking openly, positively and respectfully about the menopause, and committing to actively support and inform employees affected by the menopause.

Tom Webber, people director for Bupa Global, India & UK, said: “We’re always looking for new ways to support our people.

“By committing to the Menopause in the Workplace pledge, we aim to create an environment where we can speak openly and provide support around this important topic.

“We want our people to thrive at work and it’s important that businesses have the right support in place for when people might be struggling. We want everyone to be comfortable speaking about what they’re experiencing and accessing the support they need.”

Bupa Health Clinics donates 5% of each menopause plan sold to Wellbeing of Women to help fund research into women’s health.
