Cirencester Friendly has appointed Alak Sharma as director of risk and compliance, subject to regulatory approval.
Sharma (pictured) joins from Brightside Group where she was risk and compliance director.
She is a chartered accountant, originally trained at PricewaterhouseCoopers, and has extensive experience in risk, compliance, governance and internal audit, the insurer said.
Commenting on her appointment, Sharma said: “I’m delighted to be joining Cirencester Friendly at such an exciting period of strategic growth.
“It’s a great opportunity for me to be able to continue working collaboratively with great people who put members’ interests at the heart of their decision making.
