Healix Health Services has revealed that its Healix ConneX app has helped improve employee recovery times by up to 80% by promoting early intervention.

The app which launched earlier this year provides access to physical and psychological rehabilitation services for all Healix members. It reduces waiting times for treatment by up to 60%.

It does this through partnerships such as those it has with providers EQL and Mind Right. EQL provides members with access to its Phio digital support tool for clinically led treatment for musculoskeletal (MSK) issues. The service’s bespoke programmes aim to optimise the recovery process for each individual and enable them to get the appropriate level of care faster than they would have done otherwise.

In a similar vein, Mind Right’s psychological rehabilitation services offers members access to clinical professionals to direct them towards treatment or specialists without waiting months for NHS services.

Elaborating on recovery times, Healix told Health & Protection that an independent study had been carried out of over 200 individual workplace health cases. The study found that where treatment began within two weeks of the member’s first day of absence – absence duration and consequently recovery times were reduced by an average of 80%.

This was when compared to absence cases where there was either no treatment intervention or intervention was delayed by 10 weeks after the initial absence.

Ian Talbot, CEO at Healix, (pictured) said: “Physical and mental health have been at the forefront of the emergence from the pandemic, so we wanted to offer a solution that would help not only all of our members but also to ease the pressure on the NHS. Working from home isn’t going away any time soon – if ever – so we must be aware of the impact on our mental health, wellbeing and musculoskeletal health. Providing the right support to staff has become even more crucial. Working with EQL and Mind Right for Healix ConneX, we are ensuring that the physical and mental health services available as part of our digital pathway are as accessible as possible for employees, giving access to bespoke expert advice all in one place.

“The statistics are already showing that early intervention is reducing recovery time, and helping people get back to work sooner as healthier, happier and more productive individuals.”

Jason Ward, CEO at EQL, said: “The pandemic has highlighted the importance and benefits of being able to access key healthcare support quickly and easily. Healix ConneX understands this and always sets out to cater for its clients with innovative products such as Healix ConneX and we’re proud to be a part of it – our visions align so closely and we are seeing the positive impact of our productive partnership.”

Pete Clark, managing director at Mind Right, added: “Given our long-standing commitment to transforming psychological rehabilitation, we are always looking for ways to provide better access to the right treatment. With healthcare support becoming increasingly digital, we share a common mission with Healix ConneX in the need to create positive results for all. We are excited to see the impact this partnership can have on the happiness, health, and productivity of countless employees.”
