Bupa has launched a bitesize academy module on Supporting neurodiverse employees: a guide for managers, as part of the Bupa Academy for Workplace Health and Wellbeing.

While one in seven people are neurodivergent, traditional working practises are often designed with a neurotypical society in mind, which can make it difficult for neurodivergent employees to thrive at work.

During this seven-minute video Naomi Humber, Head of Mental Wellbeing talks to Emma Shatliff, Bupa Academy Manager about the vital role line managers can play in supporting a neurodiverse workforce.

Naomi shares tips, tools and practical advice on how managers can better support neurodiverse individuals in the workplace and the practical adjustments that can be made to help neurodivergent employees thrive at work.

She also discusses the values of a neurodiverse workforce and how diverse workplaces that, support and retain neurodivergent individuals benefit from attracting new talent, skills and perspectives.
