Unum UK has revealed it has surpassed two million employees insured across its product range for the first time.
The figure includes insured employees covered by group income protection, group critical illness, group life, dental insurance and optical insurance and represents the number of lives under all these policies.
It also includes the total number of policies for an individual employee where they are insured under more than one product.
According to the employee benefits provider, demand for its life insurance product generated much of the growth in 2022.
Mark Till, CEO of Unum UK, said the insurer was proud to support more than two million people in the UK with financial protection and workplace wellbeing benefits.
“We continue to strive for growth whilst providing maximum value to the people we cover,” he said.
He added that protection products and support services “offer important leverage for businesses trying to engage and motivate talent in today’s tough economic environment and are a contributing factor to many businesses’ wellbeing and productivity targets”.
