Bluecrest Wellness hires Bupa’s Morris as head of intermediary relationships

Bluecrest Wellness has appointed Jason Morris as head of intermediary relationships.

Morris (pictured) joins from Bupa where he had spent nine years – the last seven and a half as head of intermediary sales for small and mid-corporate.

Prior to joining Bupa he was a key accounts development manager at Axa PPP Healthcare for seven years, and also worked as a sales consultant at Guardian and Norwich Union earlier in his 30-year career.

Morris will be charged with building a team that will work through key distribution partners and employee benefits specialists.

The firm said it is very well established in the individual space but was increasing its corporate focus in response to growing demand from employees and employers.

Morris said: “After 30 years in health insurance, Bluecrest’s focus on preventative healthcare really appealed to me.

“It means businesses can understand the health issues impacting their workforce and invest in early interventions, and that people can get peace of mind – and the opportunity to make changes if they need to. In the midst of The Great Resignation, that gives companies an extraordinary competitive advantage.

“It can help them shape a workforce-wide, proactive health and wellbeing strategy, create targeted responses – and ultimately reduce absences and improve productivity and staff engagement. My priority is getting that message out there and giving businesses a new way to protect and connect with their people.”

Jon Darby, corporate director at the firm, added: “Following the pandemic, people are more likely to be concerned about their heath, may find it difficult to access NHS support – and are less likely to be able to afford private healthcare for themselves.

“As a result, demand for health support in the workplace has increased significantly.

“Jason will be working with benefits specialists to provide them with an extra tool in their product suites – and to deliver their clients practical, affordable and convenient health checks that work alongside existing medical insurance and cash plans. We’re delighted to have him on board to help get our health assessments out to even more people through their places of work.”
