The government has announced plans to rollout an occupational health (OH) subsidy pilot to support SMEs in England and is consult on increasing occupational health coverage and tax incentives.
The commitments featured in Budget documents published today by HM Treasury.
Government will expand a subsidy pilot scheme to support small and medium-sized businesses in England with the cost of purchasing occupational health services.
It will consult on increasing occupational health coverage – including increasing occupational health provision by UK employers.
This includes regulatory options, boosting the supply of occupational health professionals, and proposing kitemarking to indicate the quality of occupational health provision.
It will also consult on occupational health tax incentives – including options to increase investment in occupational health services by UK wide employers through the tax system.
