SimplyBiz has launched MyLearning Academy, an online learning portal developed in partnership with Competent Adviser.

The academy, available from today (21 February) to all SimplyBiz member firms, offers support on a range of qualifications from CeMAP 1 to AF5.

It is designed to create a bespoke learning journey for users, whether they’re a new starter or an experienced adviser training in a specialist area.

It supports a range of qualifications from institutions including the London Institute of Banking and Finance (LIBF) and the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII).

The portal is built upon the foundations of Competent Adviser’s online study support programme, with courses broken down into bite-sized pieces, with each module comprising of reading assignments and test assignments to assess understanding.

Competent Adviser was acquired by Fintel, the parent company of SimplyBiz, in July last year and was the first acquisition through the fintech and support services provider’s ‘Fintel IQ’ arm.

Fintel IQ is a technology and solutions hub, designed to acquire and develop a connected regulatory and business support platform that can be used across Fintel’s customer channels.

Marc Thompson, director of Adviser Services at SimplyBiz, (pictured) said: “As a result of the increasing value of advice, our members have told us that client growth is their number one priority for 2024.

“We believe that the introduction of the MyLearning Academy will prove invaluable to firms who want to both train the next generation of advisers and increase the number of clients they are able to see.”
