The Openwork Partnership has added MetLife’s standalone policy ChildShield product to its protection advice proposition for its more than 4,500 advisers.

The product covers children from birth up to the age of 23.

Openwork said it had reviewed and adapted its advice process to incorporate ChildShield and it is now accessible to all its advisers when advising new and existing customers, together with MetLife’s accident and illness product.

Rich Horner, head of individual protection at MetLife UK, (pictured) said: “It’s been a pleasure working with the team to ensure that their thousands of advisers can offer this product to families across the UK. It’s a true testament to their forward-thinking approach.“

Paul Shearman, mortgage and protection proposition director at The Openwork Partnership, added: “I’m delighted to be adding MetLife’s ChildShield product to our protection portfolio. It is truly unique in the market and opens up new opportunities for our advisers to protect clients and their families.

“When a child is sick or injured it can place huge emotional and also financial pressure on parents. ChildShield will help our clients cope with these pressures.”
