Guardian has bolstered its underwriting team with two hires from AIG Life.

Vicky Still and Dee McKellican join Guardian’s underwriting operations team as life and health protection underwriter and underwriter respectively.

The pair report to head of underwriting operations Nick Rice and will be responsible for delivering operational underwriting service to advisers and policyholders.

The firm said their appointments come as Guardian “continues to increase market share and onboard new accounts, with ongoing increasing sales creating extra demand on its underwriting operations team”.

Still (pictured) said: “I’m really excited to be joining Guardian as a life and health protection underwriter.

“After previously working for Fortis Life/Ageas/AIG for the previous 15 years on and off due to maternity, I can’t wait to start my journey within this dynamic and innovative team, focusing on making the protection market more accessible for our customers.”

McKellican added: “I’m excited to join Guardian as an underwriter after 14 years at AIG Life.

“Guardian’s approach to protection access and its customer care is impressive. I already feel very welcomed into the Guardian team and excited to see what the future holds as the business continues to grow.”
