Protection Guru has confirmed the exit of head of specialist distribution, Steve Davey, and the impending departures of head of product, Adam Higgs and sales and relationship manager, Joanne Legg.
In a statement sent to Health & Protection, Ian McKenna, (pictured), founder of Protection Guru, wished the trio well, thanking Higgs for his “outstanding” contribution, and adding that a transition plan has been in place preparing for his departure for some time.
“For over 12 years Adam has made an outstanding contribution to our business. He is moving on to an enormous opportunity which he fully deserves, and I am sure he will be a huge success,” McKenna said.
“We have known about this for many months and a transition plan has been in operation for some time.”
On Legg, McKenna said that while she was taking up an “exciting new role,” she will remain with the business until the end of the year.
“That two of our colleagues are moving on to such important opportunities is a testimony to what a great place Protection Guru is to advance your career,” McKenna continued.
“Both of them go with my best wishes, indeed I am looking forward to engaging with them in their new roles.
“While Adam and Jo have been in front of house roles in our business, there are many more people in the company. We have recently added to the team and will continue to do so.”
And touching on Davey, McKenna said he had left the business and wished him well for the future.
Amazing accomplishments
Higgs added: “During the last 12 years we have accomplished some amazing things at FTRC/Protection Guru.
“We have taken the Protection Guru brand from a complete start up, to many advisers’ go-to place for product information, built a multi award-winning Consumer Duty ready product comparison system – ProtectionGuruPro – and helped facilitate many engaging discussions between advisers and insurers.
“I have been given many opportunities to further my career in my time at FTRC and Protection Guru, which I am eternally grateful for.
“I look forward to seeing how Protection Guru continues to go from success to success and will enjoy working with the team on more opportunities going forwards.”
