Bupa Health Services has acquired The Dermatology Partnership for an undisclosed sum with the intention of speeding up access to skincare for the insurer’s customers.
The Dermatology Partnership clinics are based in London’s Harley Street, Wimbledon, Oxford, Canterbury, Cheltenham, Cheadle and Shrewsbury.
The firm said the acquisition would enable Bupa’s UK Insurance customers to have faster access to the dermatology care at a time when these services have some of the longest waiting times in the UK.
This latest deal follows on from Bupa Health Services’ acquisition of diabetes care provider London Medical and musculoskeletal specialist Blackberry Clinics earlier this year.
Sarah Melia, general manager for Bupa Health Services, said: “We’re delighted to acquire The Dermatology Partnership and expand our specialist services into dermatology. This new partnership will enable us to create a seamless pathway for customers to have their concerns addressed.
“Our long-term strategy is to provide more Bupa services directly to customers, which is further cemented with the acquisition of The Dermatology Partnership. We’re looking forward to welcoming the team to Bupa Health Services.”
Mark Norfolk, CEO of the Dermatology Partnership, added the firm was very pleased to join Bupa Health Services and that working together would help it attract new customers and experts into the clinics.
“It will also help us to reach our ambition of becoming the leading provider of dermatology in the UK and expand and grow the business,“ he said.
“Our customers will see no change to the service they receive at The Dermatology Partnership and all appointments will be going ahead as scheduled.”
