Scottish Widows: Avoid one size fits all approach to client communications

Scottish Widows has launched a new dashboard for advisers and paraplanners to help them save time and better track their protection cases.

The insurer said it will help advisers quickly find the information they’re looking for and has been designed to help them understand the next best action for each case in their pipeline, with real-time information.

It shows outstanding actions in straightforward language to make it easier for advisers to support their clients through the application process quickly and efficiently.

The dashboard also highlights potential vulnerabilities, supporting the commitments of Consumer Duty by helping prevent foreseeable harm to clients who are financially vulnerable or during a claim.

In addition, it can identify other vulnerabilities by flagging customers whose policies are not written into trust, addressing issues such as inheritance tax liability and preventing complications when they make a claim.

The provider added policies created before August 2024 will be gradually added onto the dashboard by early 2025.

Rose St Louis, protection director at Scottish Widows, (pictured) said: “We are working hard to make it easy and seamless for advisers to deal with us.

“Alongside significant digital investment, our new platform and recent product launches, the new dashboard is another step to help us achieve this, helping intermediaries to provide the best possible service to our customers and deliver on the Consumer Duty commitments.”
