Towergate Employee Benefits has hired Charlie Goodman as client director at Towergate Employee Benefits.
Goodman has 20 years’ experience in financial services including stints at Matioli Woods, Brooks Macdonald, Broadstone, Grant Thornton and the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS).
Goodman will be part of a team of more than 20 specialists reporting to head of consulting services Mark Pugh and will provide financial wellbeing and pension expertise to clients.
This includes supporting existing clients as well as help to drive new business across the full range of employee benefit services.
Goodman is a qualified financial adviser who previously looked after high net worth individuals with Barnes & Sherwood, before moving to focus on workplace pensions and employee benefits with Grant Thornton.
In 2019 Goodman launched his own employee benefits and financial wellbeing business Good Money Guidance, joining the Employee Benefits Collective in 2021 as an equity partner.
He is a director of the Institute for Financial Wellbeing, secretary of the CIPD branch in Central London, and sits on the main committee of the NextGen Pensions diversity initiative.
Goodman said: “My main aim is to improve the financial wellbeing of our clients’ employees.
“I am joining a great team at an exciting time for the business and the industry as whole, so I am very positive about really making a difference.”
Pugh added: “Charlie is a fantastic addition to the team.
“He will focus on supporting clients with financial wellbeing and workplace pensions, strengthening this increasingly important and relevant area of our services to clients.
“Our capability to support clients in all areas of benefits means we can take a holistic view when providing advice, ensuring a joined-up approach across all benefits.
“Charlie joining will help us to meet our growing client demands for comprehensive, full-service employee benefits solutions delivered by a single company to manage all benefits needs.”
