Bupa is offering a free mini health check to individuals and couples who take out a new health insurance policy until the end of September.

Throughout August and September, Bupa Health Clinics will provide the mini health check which gives an evidence-based snapshot of a person’s health through a blood test covering a range of health markers such as lipid profile, haemoglobin A1c (HbA1c), kidney, liver and thyroid function.

If any abnormalities are discovered, customers will be offered a 15-minute consultation with a Bupa clinician to discuss their results and receive guidance on next steps. Policy terms apply and results will not affect underwriting.

Customers can use their new Bupa health insurance policy to access further diagnostics, treatment or specialist care as needed, depending on the type of cover they have chosen.

Dr John Field, associate clinical director at Bupa Health Clinics, said: “Many people simply don’t know the vital facts about their health until something goes wrong.

“By offering free mini health checks, Bupa is helping new customers get an early, clear and evidence-based understanding of their health so they can stay well or take early preventative action if needed.”

John Hunter-Brown, general manager for consumer health Insurance at Bupa, added: “We’ve listened to feedback from our customers and intermediary partners, and we know that people want to take more control over their health.

“These health checks will provide new customers with clear, reliable and actionable insights, helping them to stay on top of their health and prevent illness from day one.”
