Aviva is expanding its health risk assessments and tying-in customer progress towards personal health goals to earning the 15% discount.

The moves are part of updates to its MyHealthCounts benefit which the insurer said was aimed to help customers better understand their health, take proactive steps to improve it, and be rewarded for their efforts.

The changes, available to all Healthier Solutions customers, aim to offer a more personalised and engaging experience.

Customers can complete a series of health-focused actions such as risk assessments, syncing fitness apps, and tracking progress towards health goals to earn up to 15% off their renewal premium.

The changes include:

  • Expanded health risk assessments: in addition to cardiovascular health, customers can now assess their risk for cancer (including six types), diabetes, lung conditions, and dementia.
  • App integration: customers can connect a health and fitness app to track lifestyle activity and progress.
  • Goal setting and tracking: from their second year of using the enhanced service, customers can earn towards their overall discount by consistently logging progress towards personal health goals.
  • Tailored support: the platform offers personalised tips based on the information customers provide, 12-week programmes, and a health library to help them make meaningful lifestyle changes.

Lisa Bartlett, head of health propositions at Aviva UK Health, said: “We know that when people are supported in understanding and improving their health, they’re more likely to take positive action.

“With the enhanced MyHealthCounts, we’re not only offering more insight and guidance, but also rewarding customers who engage with the platform.

“By completing health assessments, syncing their fitness data, and tracking their progress, customers can earn up to 15% off their renewal premium—recognising their commitment to better health.”
