Legal & General has significantly cut back on issuing quotes for group critical illness (CI) schemes, Health & Protection can reveal.
The insurer told Health & Protection it was not exiting the group critical illness market but did not say how long the new approach would be in place.
Several reasons have been suggested to Health & Protection for the decision, but Legal & General did not comment on why it was significantly reducing the volume of quotes it was issuing for group CI schemes.
In a statement it said: “We remain committed to the group critical illness market and continue to support intermediaries of all sizes.
“Our account managers and teams collaborate closely with intermediaries to identify and focus on opportunities where we can provide the most value to them and their clients.”
