Global Mobility & Health Summit: Winning war for talent not about who can automate quickest – Munir

Winning the war for talent is not about who can automate quickest, according to Zain Munir, head of international at Chartered Management Institute (CMI).

Speaking at Health & Protection’s Global Health and Mobility Summit, Munir (pictured) maintained human capacity was a rare resource that needed to be nurtured and prized.

“Organisations won’t succeed if they are worried about who is going to automate the quickest,” Munir said.

“It’s about investing in your people and creating that unique value.

“So some of those core skills that we’re seeing coming out of here, not just in the UK, but globally, are AI literacy, sustainability and core leadership skills.”

Though Munir noted there were some global regional variations.

“Certainly in the Middle East, and I have been travelling through the Middle East for the last four to five years, they are very big on AI and they are very big on sustainability,” Munir said.

“Also core leadership skills, but they take their time in terms of trying to look at best practice.

“Saudi Arabia is a classic example – very big on AI, very big on sustainability, but they’re still slacking when it comes to leadership and improving those leadership skills.”
