AIA Singapore has expanded its health insurance coverage via the signing a memorandum of understanding with Raffles Hospital to increase the quality of healthcare services for its customers as well as increasing the number of medical specialists available.

Raffles Hospital is a tertiary care private hospital based in Singapore.

The move will mean the addition of 90 private specialist doctors from Raffles Hospital, and will increase AIA Singapore’s panel of doctors to almost 700 medical specialists.

AIA Singapore and Raffles Hospital will also work together to share quality indicators and patient outcomes to improve value-based healthcare.

Irma Hadikusuma, chief marketing and healthcare officer at AIA Singapore, said: “As Singapore’s population ages and demand for healthcare services increases, our priority remains to ensure that AIA policyholders continue to get prompt access to meet their medical and hospitalisation needs.

“AIA Singapore’s partnership with Raffles Hospital will not only provide more options to our policyholders, but it will also allow us to leverage data analytics to further inform how we design solutions to best meet the needs of Singapore residents.

“We are also confident that this collaboration will help to ensure the financial sustainability of our Integrated Shield Plan business and manage long-term healthcare inflation through value-driven care.”

Dr Kenneth Wu, chief operating officer at Singapore Healthcare, Raffles Medical Group, said: “We are delighted to partner AIA to improve access to quality care at Raffles Hospital.

“Our hospital offers the full range of specialist services combined with some of the most advanced medical technology and is also accredited for trauma care by MOH.

“We trust this collaboration will enhance our joint value proposition to meet the evolving healthcare needs of patients for the long-term.”
