UnderwiteMe has appointed Andrew Doran, global chief underwriting officer of its parent company Pacific Life Re, as CEO.
Doran succeeds James Tait, who the insurtech said is leaving the the business to “pursue new opportunities”.
Doran has more than 20 years’ experience in the insurance and reinsurance industry and brings insight into the Asia markets gained after spending several years in Singapore.
Doran has most recently been working with Pacific Life Re in Singapore for five years, leaving as global chief underwriter, a position he held since 2022. Prior to that he was head of underwriting and claims from 2020.
Before Pacific Life Re, Doran worked at Aviva in Singapore for seven years from 2013 to 2020, leaving as underwriting strategy manager.
Doran will be returning to the UK in this new role.
Tait was the CEO at UnderwriteMe for five years from February 2020. He started working there in as a non-executive director in 2012. Prior to that he was at Pacific Life for more than eight years.
