April International has launched its Easy Pay Card in the UK following a launch in other markets last year.

The card has been used in more than 50 countries since launch.

It allows policyholders to cover their pre-authorised medical expenses above £500, without using their own funds and seeking reimbursement whether they are receiving treatment in Europe, Asia, Africa or the Middle East.

Preloaded with funds to pay for treatment

Policyholders contact April International UK and provide a brief description of their diagnosis or symptoms, treatment details and estimated costs.

Their claim will be reviewed within three working days and once approved, the card will be issued and pre-loaded with the funds needed to pay for the treatment.

The card can be added to a digital wallet and used like any other standard virtual card and imposes no upper limit on payments.

Backed by Visa, the card aims to ensure coverage for medical care, wherever policyholders may be.

April International said its Easy Claim app will also be rolled out to the UK.

Joe Thomas, managing director of April International UK, said it offered members a personalised line of credit on their virtual card, allowing them to manage their healthcare with greater ease and confidence.

“The Easy Pay Card gives them complete control, without relying on their own credit or debit cards.

“While it doesn’t replace reimbursements for smaller treatments, it bridges the gap between minor costs and more complex cases.

“We’re committed to leveraging digital technology to improve the customer experience, and the Easy Pay Card is another step in making healthcare as seamless as possible for our members around the world.“
