Ascend Broking Group has appointed Kristian Breeze as healthcare director for Ascend Healthcare, (previously known as SMP Insurance Brokers).

Breeze, (pictured), who told Health & Protection about his new role,  previously worked in business development at National Friendly. There  he helped to drive growth initiatives and expand distribution channels. His responsibilities also included crafting tailored schemes for health and protection brokers.

More recently, he worked in the Lloyd’s and company markets, specialising in international specialty insurance.

Earlier in his career, Breeze worked at Howden, where he developed his client management skills and strategic planning abilities.

Ascend Health is part of the Chelmsford-based Ascend Broking Group.

Matthew Collins, managing director of Ascend Broking Group, told Health & Protection: “I am delighted that Kristian has joined the Ascend.

“He brings with him a wide plethora of skills that will be of great benefit to our clients and wider group as we continue to grow and provide an exceptional client centric service.”

Breeze told Health & Protection: “I am really looking forward to assisting the Ascend Broking Group with their client service proposition and further strengthening our offering and capabilities to our clients and partners alike.

“With staff retention and workplace sickness an ever-increasing concern for many businesses the country over, there has never been a more crucial time to assist firms in alleviating those worries by way of protecting what matters most, the beating heart of any business, their people.

“Seeing how Ascend both value and care about their clients and the wider community, the decision to come across was an easy one for me.”
