The Association of Financial Mutuals has appointed Cirencester Friendly CEO Andy Morris as chairman of its board.
Previously vice-chairman, Morris (pictured) succeeds Ann-Marie O’Dea, chief executive at Shepherds Friendly Society.
Sophia Reed, mutual manager at both Activities Industry Mutual and the Fire & Rescue Indemnity Company, has been appointed vice chairwoman.
Morris said: “The government’s ambition to double the size of the sector presents a unique opportunity to champion the values that set mutuals apart — putting members first, delivering long-term value, and delivering exceptional service.
“I look forward to working with colleagues across the sector to seize this moment and help mutuals thrive as a vital part of the UK’s financial services landscape.
“Along with the rest of the board, I want to take this opportunity to thank Ann-Marie for the great contribution she has made to the AFM over the years and wish her all the very best for the future.”
