Aston Lark has acquired Healthwise Group Ltd.
The acquisition is Aston Lark’s second healthcare acquisition of 2022 following its purchase of Phoenix Healthcare last month. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Founded in 1993 and based in Dudley in the West Midlands, the private medical insurance (PMI) and employee benefits intermediary is led by commercial director Paul Swanson and managing director Bob Grindley.
In 2021, Aston Lark hit the acquisition trail on a number of occasions, with the purchases of Lancashire-based Choice Benefits, London and Watford-based Innovation Broking and Southampton-based broker PHM.
It also completed the buyout of Right to Health and The Health Insurance Specialists, and agreed terms to acquire the clients of The Health Insurance Company.
The firm itself was also acquired by international insurance broking group Howden which reached agreement to buy Aston Lark from Goldman Sachs Asset Management and Bowmark Capital in October.
Commenting on this latest acquisition, Peter Blanc, CEO of Aston Lark Group, (pictured) said: “We’re delighted to welcome the Healthwise team to the group, as we continue our ambitious employee benefits growth strategy.
“The last year has been transformational in the employee benefits space and the addition of Healthwise will further allow us to broaden our offering to our personal and business clients.”
Swanson said: “We have been contacted by many parties interested in acquiring Healthwise over the years, however Aston Lark stood out as a great future home for our clients. We can now support all our clients’ insurance needs as part of the combined group facility.”
Grindley added: “We’re delighted to be joining Aston Lark and are excited by the prospect of expanding our operation in Dudley.”
