Aston Lark on the hunt for more health and EB advice firm acquisitions

Aston Lark has made a public statement of its intent to expand its health insurance and employee benefits advice business through purchases and other related transactions.

The firm issued a statement saying it had “ambitious plans” in the sector and calling on businesses that are “considering their options” to contact it.

Aston Lark added that it “wants to be the go-to acquirer for vendors wanting to realise the value of their business”.

It has already been a busy 12 months for the business, in late 2020 it acquired Southampton-based broker PHM and earlier this year completed the buyout of two of the UK’s largest consumer private medical insurance (PMI) brokers, Right to Health and The Health Insurance Specialists.

And earlier this week terms were agreed to acquire the clients of The Health Insurance Company.

Aston Lark group CEO Peter Blanc said the firm had no plans to stop there.

“We recognise there are many shapes and sizes of business,” he said.

“Therefore, whether we are just acquiring a client portfolio or a limited company, we can adapt the deal to suit all parties, including giving vendors the opportunity to continue in the wider business moving forward.”

He also emphasised that organic growth within the business was important.

“The provision of both employee benefits and personal health insurance has never been more in focus than it is today.

“The pandemic has pushed the importance and value of these benefits right to the top of the agenda of both employers and employees.

“So much so, we are seeing record organic growth within our employee benefits and personal health insurance division, with the intention of bolstering this growth with further acquisitions. As such, Aston Lark would welcome a discussion with any businesses that are considering their options.”
