Aviva is altering its digital GP support through its Aviva DigiCare+ app to let individual protection customers benefit from up to three digital GP consultations a year, at no extra cost.

The insurer said these appointments can be shared with eligible family members and are available 8am to 8pm, seven days a week.

Previously, this was offered as an optional paid-for service.

The offer applies to individual income protection, life insurance, critical illness, and underwritten whole of life policies purchased through an insurance adviser after 7 December 2020.

It excludes Simple Life Insurance and Business Protection.

Victoria Francis, head of individual protection propositions at Aviva, said: “We’re delighted to be able to extend our award-winning Aviva DigiCare+ health and wellness proposition.

“Our digital GP enhancements address the fundamental healthcare needs of speedy access to a GP, enough time to talk and be listened to, and access to medication.

“On average, our customers will get access to a DigiCare+ GP appointment within 24 hours.

“We’re delighted that Aviva’s individual protection customers can now enjoy this benefit from day one of their policy.”
