Aviva and UnderwriteMe have joined the founding members of the Group for Autism, Insurance and Neurodiversity (Gain).
A month ago, Health & Protection reported on the launch of the industry pressure group which seeks to to unlock the true potential of neurodiverse individuals and give them opportunities in the insurance industry.
Founder members announced then from the industry included Marsh McLennan, Swiss Re, Zurich and Principal.
But in an update today, Gain revealed that the sector’s founder members now also included Aviva and UnderwriteMe.
Other founder members include ISC Group, ArcQ, Ambitious about Autism, E2W, Expand the Circle and Lexxic.
Chika Aghadiuno, group enterprise risk director at Aviva, said: “Neurodiversity is rightly starting to receive more attention and is an area that we at Aviva are keen to learn about.
“In addition to our recently launched neurodiversity placement scheme, we are delighted to become a founder member of Gain.
“In collaboration with Gain, we hope to help champion neurodiversity across our industry and become a neurodiversity-smart employer, embracing and maximising the talent of our existing and future colleagues.”
James Tait, chief executive officer at UnderwriteMe, added the business was proud and excited to become a founder member of Gain.
“Gain is an industry-wide initiative, where organisations and individuals are working together to champion neurodiversity and create employment opportunities, that will positively impact lives and improve workplaces for the benefit of all,” he said.
“We’re passionate about creating a diverse team which is both inclusive and supportive of one another.
