Aviva is now offering its DigiCare+ Workplace app to all insured group life customers.

The app provides a suite of clinical services aimed at helping employees detect, manage and prevent physical and mental health problems.

Since the launch of DigiCare+ for individual protection, group critical illness and group income protection customers in September 2020, the app has had around 148,000 registrations with 61% of customers engaging as repeat users.

The app’s five key benefits are:

  • An annual finger prick health check to help employees keep track of their health – including cholesterol status, liver health and diabetes risk.
  • A digital GP service offering access to clinical advice and guidance from a UK registered GP.
  • Mental health consultations providing support from mental health professionals for home or work-related issues
  • Nutritional advice and guidance to help manage relationships with food and maintain a healthier diet.
  • Expert second medical opinion which could offer peace of mind or new information following a diagnosis.

The move is an addition to Aviva’s existing group life wellbeing services including a bereavement helpline, stress helpline, line manager toolkit and activity discounts.

Jason Ellis, sales director for group protection at Aviva said he was delighted to be adding the DigiCare+ Workplace app to the wellbeing services available with group life cover.

“While our insurance cover is in place to support employees when the worst happens, our wellbeing services encourage employees to take care of their physical, mental, and financial health, while they are insured with us,” he said.

“The access to clinical professionals at the touch of a button means employees can get the help they need, when they need it – which in today’s hybrid working environment is something we can now offer to even more employees.”
