Aviva is expanding its mental health support for SME line managers to include information about menopause.

This is according to Ally Antell, head of propositions and strategy at Aviva Health UK, who was taking part in a panel session at the Association of Medical Insurers and Intermediaries (AMII) Health and Wellbeing Summit.

Antell noted the insurer is already offering customers access to GPs who list menopause as a specialism within their digital service, but added Aviva will expand its mental health support for line managers working at SMEs.

“We are looking to expand that in the next couple of months to information about menopause,” Antell (pictured first left) said.

“So if you’re a line manager with somebody who is suffering from the menopause or about to go through that process it can be quite daunting for a line manager to actually understand how they can deal with that individual.

“So advice and a bit of guidance for those people, I think will be really valuable,” he added.
