Axa Health is making its menopause service available to all members.
The service, launched last year as an opt-in for corporate clients, has now been extended to all members, including individual customers and SME members.
As part of the service, members whose symptoms cannot be managed through a GP can access specialist menopause consultants who can support them with whatever they are experiencing.
The help is provided through a network of Axa Health recognised specialists who are accredited with the British Menopause Society (BMS). Many of these specialists offer remote consultations, offering greater flexibility and access to care.
Members who have outpatient cover do not pay any additional fees as part of their cover to include the support on their plan.
They also benefit from information and wellbeing support from nurses and counsellors via a 24/7 phone line and access to online appointments with qualified GPs who have menopause training.
Andy McClure, marketing and proposition director, Axa Health, said: “Whether you’re going through the menopause yourself, or trying to support someone you care about, it can have a significant impact on many aspects of your life.
“We believe the varied services available to our members offer a range of mind and body support, enabling them to feel informed and supported and able to choose the tools more suited to them.
“We’re working to ensure health support for women is not just an optional extra and is recognised and delivered in the way any other treatment would be.
“We’re proud to be making life simpler for our members, with advice available around the clock, and access to specialist menopause support as standard.”
