Axa Health International has appointed Dr Melissa Castro as head medical adviser, effective immediately.
In her new role, Dr Castro (pictured) will provide senior clinical leadership across Axa Health International and help shape its international health proposition.
Working closely with colleagues across the business and healthcare partners worldwide, she will provide guidance on complex medical cases, support the development of future-focused healthcare solutions, strengthen clinical governance and help improve health outcomes for customers around the world.
Dr Castro joins from Allianz Partners, where she built a diverse career spanning clinical practice, medical assistance, health insurance and operational leadership. Throughout her career, she has worked with multidisciplinary teams to optimise medical case management, strengthen quality standards and improve customer outcomes.
Originally from Mexico and now based in the UK, Dr Castro has lived and worked across multiple countries, giving her a broad understanding of diverse healthcare systems and the needs of internationally mobile customers.
