Babylon, the digital health company that provides services to Bupa in the UK, has expanded operations in the US after securing a major deal there.
It will be working with Home State Health to deliver additional access to primary care to health plan members living in 10 counties in Southeast Missouri.
Through the partnership, Babylon will serve as the Primary Care Physician (PCP) via its mobile application-based telehealth platform. Home State Health members assigned to Babylon will have access to their PCP through their smartphone 24/7.
Babylon works with a number of public and private organisations, including insurers, around the world to deliver healthcare via a range of digital and mobile devices. Its services are currently available to 20 million members.
The latest deal will see Home State Health members be supported by a 20-person interdisciplinary Babylon care team including nurses and community health workers.
Babylon founder Dr Ali Parsa said: “On behalf of the Babylon team, I am honoured to have the opportunity to partner with Home State Health to offer Missourians a personalised, end-to-end, and human-centric care experience.
“There has never been a greater need for a digital healthcare solution that can go directly to the source; meeting patients exactly where they are and when they need care most.”
