Benenden Health saw a 29% increase in demand for its physio services from its members in 2025.

According to data shared with Health & Protection, the not-for-profit healthcare provider’s members accessed 30,547 physiotherapy appointments over the year, up from 23,551 in 2024.

The firm also saw a 12% increase in demand for diagnostic services, up to 68,912 from 61,433 and a 7% rise in GP appointments from 60,097 to 64,860 over the same period.

Treatments declined 13.1% from 17,756 to 15,430 and the firm’s mental health helpline served 7% fewer clients, taking 7,549 calls, down from 8,189 in 2024.

The firm also noted 1,311 interactions with its neurodiversity and care support service, introduced as part of its expanding focus on holistic wellbeing.

In 2025, it also added an app-based, skin cancer detector, eye health check and the My Expert Health Coach service, where members can access 30-minute appointments with trained clinicians on topics including mental health, menopause, gut health, sleep and weight management.

Tom Woolgrove, CEO of Benenden Health, (pictured) said: “Our purpose has always been to make high-quality healthcare accessible to everyone, and 2025 shows just how vital that mission continues to be. With tens of thousands of appointments and diagnostics delivered this year, we’re seeing members make proactive choices about their health and getting the support they need, when they need it.”

“But as a modern healthcare mutual, I’m incredibly proud of how we continue to evolve.

“Services like our neurodiversity and care support service underline our commitment to supporting the whole person, not just their immediate clinical needs.

“And with our new policy platform launching this year, we’ll be able to create even more flexible and future‑ready benefits that match the changing needs of our growing membership.”
