Bupa is rolling out access to the GoJoe app for its Business Health customers.
The app aims to offer people control of their health through a combination of gamified challenges, social motivation, real-time tracking and expert-led content.
GoJoe is available to eligible new customers or to existing eligible customers at their renewal stage.
Users can take part in challenges, climb leader boards and track progress alongside teammates, the insurer said.
This strengthens team connections, keeps them motivated, supports physical activity and mental wellbeing, and boosts morale and performance, it added.
The app also offers 350 Les Mills classes, a suite of meditation audio to help manage and relieve stress and curated bespoke health journeys.
There is expert-led content around financial and mental wellbeing, and an optional points-based rewards system that converts logged physical activity into cash vouchers.
It can also sync with smartwatches and fitness trackers.
Richard Norris, commercial director at Bupa, said: “Physical and mental health are deeply connected; when people feel physically well, they are better equipped to perform at their best.
“Our early-stage partnership with GoJoe hinges on a shared belief that positive health outcomes are driven by a mix of preventative and reactive support, and reflects our ongoing commitment to helping organisations build healthier and more resilient teams.”
Will Turner, co-founder and CEO of GoJoe, added: “The demands on health and support in the modern workplace are changing, with employers wanting to do more to support their teams’ health while managing rising costs at the same time.
“The GoJoe and Bupa partnership is the first step in our ability to offer employers an innovative approach to address this via end-to-end health support – and one that promotes and empowers preventative health and delivers on health equity, improved engagement and, ultimately, better performance for all.”
