Bupa Global & UK will appoint Carlos Jaureguizar as its new CEO from April 1, replacing David Hynam in this role.
Jaureguizar is currently the general manager of Bupa’s Chilean operations, having first joined the company’s Spanish business in 2006 as strategy director. He has also previously held the role of chief finance office for Bupa’s Europe and Latin American business.
Bupa Group chief executuve Iñaki Ereño says: “Jaureguizar’s experience in Spain and Chile will be invaluable and I know he will bring his passion for growth and digital transformation at this important time for the healthcare sector.”
Hynam is leaving the company to “pursue new leadership opportunities”. He joined Bupa in 2014 as UK transformation director, before becoming CEO of the UK market unit in 2016.
Ereño added: “Under David’s leadership we have expanded our market leading insurance offer, especially in mental health and virtual GP, successfully integrated our extensive network of dental clinics and reshaped our businesses in aged care and retirement living.”
