Bupa has chosen to end existing relationships with businesses in Russia while continuing to support customers undergoing treatment in the country.
The decision also means it will not renew any existing contracts or seek any new business in Russia, it told Health & Protection.
The insurer said that while it was withdrawing from business deals in Russia, it would continue to help policyholders there.
Bupa said its move to end any existing relationships with businesses in Russia, or Russian-controlled businesses globally, will be completed as soon as possible.
“We know this is a worrying and unsettling time and we are continuing to support customers undergoing treatment in Russia on a case-by-case basis,” a spokesperson for the company added.
In March, Willis Towers Watson and Marsh McLennan chose to cease operations in Russia while Aon suspended work in the country.
