Bupa Global has appointed Simon Thompson as head of corporate development – UK and Africa.
Thompson shared the news from his LinkedIn account.
He joins from UnitedHealthcare Global where he was associate director of sales for Europe, a position he held since October 2017.
He is also a former client development director at WTW and principal for international employee benefits at Mercer.
On his departure from UnitedHealthcare, Thompson said via LinkedIn: “Helping UHCG to develop its proposition and to become established as a top tier IPMI provider in such a mature market with many well established competitors has been challenging, enjoyable and enriching.
“I’ve been lucky enough to work with some genuinely inspiring leaders and hugely talented colleagues across many parts of UHC and Optum, in the UK, Ireland, Europe, Dubai and the US.
“We have shared some fantastic successes and had some great fun along the way.
“I’d also like to thank the broker and consultant community who have supported us and entrusted their own clients and the health and wellbeing of their people to us, often in remote and challenging parts of the world.”
