Bupa-owned King Edward VII’s Hospital has appointed Kate Bovell as CEO.

Bovell (pictured) is responsible for supporting the integration of King Edward VII’s Hospital into the company’s wider health services network and will oversee the day to day running of the hospital.

Having previously served as interim CEO for New Victoria Hospital, the insurer said she had played a key role in the transition since New Victoria Hospital was acquired.

She also held a number of roles within Cromwell Hospital over 11 years and has worked for other healthcare brands including Spire and HCA.

Since being acquired by the insurer, King Edward VII’s Hospital has become part of a hub of healthcare services within the London region for customers and patients.

Andrew Fairweather, strategic change and implementation director for Bupa’s Secondary Care services across London, assumes the role of interim CEO for New Victoria Hospital.

Philip Luce, CEO for Bupa’s diagnostic and secondary care services across London, said: “Kate’s passion and clear focus on quality, growth and patient experience will support the hospital through the transition into our wider Bupa network and as we look to grow our services and pathways for patients.

“I look forward to working with Kate in this role as we establish our healthcare network across London.”

Bovell added: “I’m delighted and honoured to take on the role of CEO for King Edward VII’s Hospital and support the integration. This is a really exciting time for both the hospital and Bupa, and I look forward to being part of this journey.”
