Cirencester Friendly has promoted board member Andy Lucas to chairman.
He succeeds Janice Banks, who is retiring after serving the maximum nine years on the board, the last two of which were as chairwoman.
Lucas (pictured) has been a member of the board since 2021, previously serving as senior independent director.
His career has spanned marketing, sales and business transformation, including senior roles at Prudential, ACE European Group and Cambridge Building Society.
He is also vice chairman of Buckinghamshire Building Society, trustee of two charities and a member of The Chartered Institute of Marketing.
Since becoming a Cirencester Friendly board member, he has chaired the society’s people and remuneration committee.
Lucas said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with the society so far and with exciting plans for growth on the table, I look forward to playing my part in shaping the future of the organisation and seeing the society continue its upward trajectory in the years to come.”
Andy Morris, CEO of Cirencester Friendly, said: “We have an excellent working relationship, and he wholeheartedly understands and supports our ambitious growth strategy.
“With his background in marketing and transformation, he will be perfectly placed to offer candid and sound advice to the board and the wider executive team.
“I look forward to working closely with him and the rest of the board to achieve our objectives and serve the interests of members for their long-term protection.”
