Claire Ginnelly is leaving her position as executive director of Premier Choice Healthcare.

However, she will be continuing her work as vice-chairwoman of the Association of Medical Insurers and Intermediaries (AMII).

Ginnelly (pictured) told Health & Protection that having sold the business 18 months ago to GRP Group and completed the handover with new managing director Stephen Hough, she felt the time was right to move on.

“We sold the business to GRP back in August 2020 and I had been there to see this through to them,” she said.

Ginnelly added that for the moment she would be looking to do consultancy work in the industry with no long-term plans in place yet.

“I’ve not got another job lined-up and I’m not looking to go anywhere at the moment,” she said.

“I’m not looking to move away from the industry and I’ll be staying on with AMII, it’s just time for me to move on and let GRP get on with running Premier Choice Group.

“I think the future is bright for Premier Choice and they’ve got plans to grow the business,” she added.

Ginnelly has been at Premier Choice for almost nine years, starting as head of PMI business development in May 2013 after leaving Simplyhealth where she was head of distribution.

She has 30 years’ experience in the health insurance industry having also previously been at Norwich Union, WPA, Standard Life Healthcare and Groupama.
