The Apprentice kicked off last night with a representative from the mortgage and protection sector.

Earlier this week, Health & Protection reported that Lord Sugar’s latest search for a business partner would include Nikki Jehta, associate director for mortgage and protection at Coreco Network (pictured).

But Jehta’s participation on the show proved short-lived as she along with another contestant was fired in the very first week.

The contestants were sent off to Hong Kong with the 10 women and 10 men battling to secure nine items at the cheapest price.

Jehta bravely volunteered her services as project manager, but this would prove her undoing as although both teams performed poorly, the women’s team managed to do even worse than their male counterparts in securing just two of the items.

Consequently, Jehta and Georgina Newton returned to the boardroom along with Andrea Cooper and Rothna Akhtar, with Jehta and Newton given their marching orders by Lord Sugar.
