Eight in 10 people aged over 16 in England are now fully vaccinated against Covid, according to official data.
The Office for National Statistics (ONS) data reveals that as of 1 August, 80.7% of people in England aged over 16 have been fully vaccinated.
This compares with 77.8% in Wales, 75.5% in Scotland and 74.8% in Northern Ireland.
Among younger age groups, 24.2% of 16-to-24 year olds and 50.1% of 25-to-34 year olds in England have been fully vaccinated while in Wales it is 19.9% and 50.9% respectively.
In Scotland 18.7% of the youngest cohort and 46.5% of their older peers have been double vaccinated and in Northern Ireland its 27.4% and 58.5% respectively.
Earlier in the month, ONS data revealed nine in 10 adults now have Covid antibodies across all four countries of the UK. This figure includes those that have been vaccinated or been infected with Covid.
