Broadway Insurance has brought Stuart Lowe on board to add protection to the group’s consultancy services.
Back in October 2023, the brokerage appointed Emma Wood as director of healthcare.
Wood joined from Reich Insurance Group where she was deputy head of department and before that healthcare account handler.
Lowe (pictured) joins from Howden, but also previously worked for Reich before their acquisition by Howden.
Starting the ball rolling
And Lowe told Health & Protection that he will be working closely with Wood to provide a more comprehensive service for Broadway’s clients.
“Eighteen months ago, Emma launched the healthcare business,” Lowe explained.
“But it was quickly realised that a lot of the clients that we have on our books want or have healthcare already, but also have group protection.
“Predominantly my background has been on the group side, so group life, group income protection and group critical illness, a little bit of key person protection, but we also have an established high net worth individual book as well and we want to start the ball rolling with that side of the protection as well.
“It’s just to give the client an all round feel and service, to make it so that everyone is well covered.”
All round approach
Lowe added that before his appointment the business could not really serve clients’ protection cover needs.
“When clients spoke to us to the business to see if it could help them, we couldn’t at the time because I wasn’t in place to service them,” he continued.
“Now I’m on board, we’re giving the client an all round approach of what we can do for them, whether that be from a commercial side, with corporate clients on the healthcare side and wellbeing side.
“Me and Emma are going to be very much working hand in hand on risk and wellbeing and that is something we want to be talking about in the future as well.”
