Expatriate Group has launched a cash-less claims payment service for customers to pay for all medical expenses covered by their international private medical insurance (IPMI) policies.

The Expat-Pay service is akin to a corporate credit card and has been established with Mastercard, but is not limited to hospital or doctor’s appointments or within provider networks.

The service is available to the insurer’s commercial customers and ensures costs associated with any medical care are covered by their corporate health insurance policy.

Employees can make payments via Google Pay or Apple Pay, supported by Mastercard and a physical card can be provided for policyholder use if needed.

“No matter the financial situation of an employee, they can remain confident they are fully protected from excessive medical fees while working abroad,” the insurer said.

“There are no limitations on the care provider or medical facility used. Those covered can see who they want, when they want.

“It’s not just hospital or doctor’s appointments that Expatriate Group cover, Expat-Pay can be used to cover all aspect of medical care.

It added: “If it’s associated to your claim and the facility accepts MasterCard, then Expat-Pay is your complete payment solution.”

Existing commercial customers will be offered the service for their employees at renewal with new customers introduced as part of the onboarding service.

Lee Gerry, director at Expatriate Group, added: “Some expats simply don’t live near network approved facilities and, often, the scope of the network is small – rarely incorporating pharmacies, physiotherapists, ambulance services, and the like.”
