Foresters Friendly Society has joined group risk industry body Grid.

Foresters specialises in insuring police federations, working closely with insurance brokers and clients to provide life insurance, critical illness, and personal accident cover to more than 100,000 individuals through its group schemes.

Grant Streader, head of insurance operations at Foresters Friendly Society, said: “We now underwrite over 50 schemes across the UK, with 30 being for police federations.

“We are looking to expand this area of the business and also to move into new markets.

“Membership of Grid will help us to achieve this in terms of the contacts, openings and opportunities it can provide, as well as the mark of standards it presents.”

Paul White, chairman of Grid, (pictured) added: “The sharing of information is a great advantage for organisations within Grid and we are delighted to welcome Foresters into the fold as a company with such an esteemed history.

“It is great to have their specialist knowledge within the Grid membership, and likewise, Foresters will benefit from access to Grid’s industry specialists, leaders and speakers.”
