Courtney Marsh, the former chief executive of Health Shield, has been appointed chief product, pricing and underwriting officer at BHSF.
Marsh (pictured) has taken on the role following a stint as interim director of business improvement upon joining the BHSF in April of this year.
He spent more than a decade at Health Shield, working his way up to chief executive officer in 2018 before leaving the business in the summer of 2021.
In response for comment from Health & Protection about his new role, Marsh said: “I first spoke with Heidi Stewart, CEO, over a year ago and instantly felt aligned to her passion and vision for BHSF. I’ve worked with BHSF on Consumer Duty and other projects over the past year and didn’t hesitate to apply for this role when it came up.
“Being CPPUO encompasses all my favourite elements of my career to date, which has spanned almost 30 years. I can use my actuarial skills on pricing and underwriting and creative insight on product development. The role also includes business intelligence and insights and I’m really looking forward to leading on embedding MI to help drive the business forward.”
Touching on his future plans at BHSF, Marsh added: “The role puts me in a great position to help BHSF achieve its goal of being a digital, pioneering wellbeing provider. In the short time with my teams, we have already generated lots of ideas for future development of products and services and it will be great to see these put into practice. We want to think differently about the markets we operate in and offer alternatives to what is currently available.”
